For many of us, National Rum Day (August 16) marks the end of our summer breaks, so why not make it one you will remember?
Whether by the pool or enjoying a sunny trip to your favorite beach, National Rum Day gives enthusiasts everywhere the opportunity to have one final Tiki filled experience.
Our friends at KaneTiki Bar and Grill, located at the Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort, were kind enough to share some of their most popular summer/Tiki Rum recipes for all to enjoy.
National Rum Day Recipes:
The Remedy
- 2oz Smaks Chai Rum
- 1oz Pineapple Juice
- 1oz Orange Juice
- 1oz Coco Lopez
Combine all ingredients in tin and shake vigorously. Strain into rocks glass with fresh ice and garnish with whipped cream and shaved nutmeg.
Turtle Season ‘Lights Out’
- .5oz Flor De Canya 5yr
- .5oz Clemente Coconut
- .5oz Bacardi Select
- .5oz Wicked Dolphin Spiced Rum
- 1oz Orange Juice
- 1oz Pineapple Juice
- .5oz Lemon Juice
- .5oz Simple Syrup
- .5oz Grenadine
- 1oz Coco Lopez
Combine all ingredients in tin and shake vigorously. Strain into rocks glass with fresh ice and garnish.
Spiced rum BBQ Glaze
*Enough for 5 lbs. of beef spare ribs
- 2 cups hoisin sauce
- 2 cups dark rum
- ½ cup rice wine vinegar
- 5oz lime juice
- 2oz pureed ginger
- 2oz sambal
Place all ingredients in a pot and bring to a boil. Puree and cool.
