Arnaud’s Spice Cake
Ingredients:
Cake:
- 1 ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon fine sea salt
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon ground all spice
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup packed light brown sugar
- 2/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1/3 cup unsweetened apple sauce
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 3 tablespoons Steen’s Syrup
Directions:
Combine all dry Ingredients in a bowl. In a large mixing bowl, beat sugar, oil, apple sauce, eggs and vanilla extract. Add dry ingredients and stir until blended. Pour into a 1 x 9’’ pan and bake at 350 degrees (F) for 25 – 30 minutes. Remove from pan and cool over wire rack.
