Chef-inspired American tavern fare served in a comfortable and unique atmosphere is coming to Orlando with the October opening of a new neighborhood gathering spot, Marlow’s Tavern. Marlow’s Tavern will open at Pointe Orlando at 9101 International Drive, Orlando, FL 32819 giving local residents and visitors a great place to create memorable experiences, enjoy chef-driven food and hand-crafted cocktails.
Restaurateur industry veteran Alan Palmieri was searching for his next career opportunity when he discovered Marlow’s Tavern. After retiring from Darden Restaurants, Inc., where he was executive vice president of operations in the Specialty Restaurant Group, Palmieri knew that Marlow’s was what he had been looking for – the perfect neighborhood restaurant to serve his family, friends and the Orlando community. As a longtime Orlando resident with 37 years of restaurant experience, Palmieri knows that Marlow’s Tavern is a perfect fit for the community. Palmieri will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and future development of the Orlando market.
“The decision to partner with the Marlow’s Tavern team was an easy one,” says Palmieri. “After working in this industry for my entire career, I have not seen a concept with this much passion around its quality food, creative beverages and attention to developing relationships with the staff, guests and neighborhoods. It is a concept that will give those discerning Orlando guests the exceptional hospitality that they deserve and expect daily,” adds Palmieri.
Marlow’s Tavern features the “best of the best” in classic American tavern fare, served in a modern atmosphere. The menus, created by Executive Chef and Co-founder John C. Metz, offer a diverse combination of classic dishes that are updated and elevated to a gourmet level. The beverage menu includes a wide variety of wines from around the world – all available by the glass – and a hand-crafted cocktail program that combines fresh juices and specialty, small batch liquors in an innovative and approachable way. The beer list is unique and varied, featuring local favorites, craft and import offerings by the bottle and on draft. Guests who visit Marlow’s Tavern will be welcomed with exceptional, personalized service and immediately feel the sincere and genuine hospitality from the entire team.
“We wanted to take the classic tavern fare and reinvent it for the 21st century for our guests by using seasonal, local and regional ingredients,” says Metz, of how he created the Marlow’s food and beverage menus.
Marlow’s Tavern was designed with guests’ comfort in mind. The decor is timeless, with an innovative and brightened atmosphere and unique features, like contemporary lighting combined with Chicago brick and rich appointments. The restaurant is warm and inviting with exposed brick walls, dark wood accents, large leather booths and communal tables for a timeless look and feel.
“We are excited about this opportunity because each Orlando neighborhood is so unique,” says Metz. “We’re looking forward to partnering with Alan because he has such a great local presence, commitment to quality and strong ties to the values we believe are important to operate a successful business. Pointe Orlando is a vibrant and bustling location and we’re excited about the chance to offer our unique experience and our world-class hospitality to this neighborhood. We can’t wait to meet our new neighbors and become a regular stop for those who live and work nearby,” he adds.
In every community Marlow’s Tavern serves, it partners with local neighborhood associations and charities to support and give back to the people who have generously supported the local tavern and staff.
