For the last 23 years, the Share Our Strength organization has held their annual Taste of the Nation event, partnering with some of the most prominent local and national restaurants and brands with the goal to raise money to feed the needy in local communities across the nation.
Saturday August 25, it was Orlando Florida’s turn. Hosted at the Orlando World Center Marriott, it was an evening of wines, gourmet foods, cocktails, desserts, and an auction to raise awareness and money from some of Orlando’s elite.
In attendance were local celebrities
like Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, Scott Joseph, and Andrea and Dick Batchelor to name a few. With thousands in attendance, you did your best to make it around the delicious array of treats on display for all to consume and enjoy.
Through its No Kid Hungry® campaign, Share Our Strength is making a a national effort to end childhood hunger in America by 2015. The Taste of the Nation ® event is the nation’s premier culinary benefit dedicated to make sure no kid grows up hungry. Each spring and summer, the nation’s top chefs and mixologists donate their time, talent and passion at nearly 40 Taste of the Nation events across the US and Canada.
The goal: Â
To raise the critical funds needed to end childhood hunger.  With more than 16 million children in America who are food insecure and over 637,000 in Florida alone, the need to raise critical funds is more important than ever.
