Not sure which vodka to choose? Chopin Potato adds a creamier, earthy mouth feel (and is gluten free); Rye lends a touch of heat and sweet spice; and Wheat brings a hint of fresh green grass, and butterscotch.
Chopin Lemon Basil Martini
- 2 oz. Chopin Potato Vodka
- 1/2 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
- 1/2 oz. Simple Syrup*
- 4-5 Basil Leaves
Place all the ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake it up. The ice will bruise the basil leaves and release the basil oils. Serve in a chilled Martini glass.
*For a more herbaceous variation, infuse your simple syrup with basil and only use 2 basil leaves in the shaker. Simmer 1/2 cup basil to every 1 cup of simple syrup on medium heat until sugar is fully dissolved. Cool and pour through a fine sieve before using.
