As the snow continues to pile up and we recover from yet another winter storm, it’s hard not to imagine escaping to a warm-weather destination. For those of us who cannot afford that luxury, National Margarita Day (February 22) can help create the illusion of a tropical beach vacation… or allow us to drown our sorrows.
Celebrate the holiday with one (or more!) of these delicious Margarita recipes from hotels around the Caribbean.
Hyatt Regency Aruba
The new cocktail at Hyatt Regency Aruba’s Mexicado pairs the classic Mexican cocktail – the margarita – with a local Aruban ingredient – tamarind – to create a very refreshing cocktail called the “Frozen Tamarind Margarita.”
Ingredients:
- 2 oz. Tequila (Jimador Blanco)
- 1 oz. Tamarind juice
- 1 oz. Lime Juice
Preparation:
Blend with a scoop of ice, and pour into a Margarita glass with or without a salted rim.
Margarita Premium

Ingredients:
- 2 oz. Tequila Silver
- ½ oz. Cointreau
- ½ oz. Grand Marnier
- 3 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
- Simple Syrup
Preparation:
Can be prepared frozen, chilled or on the rocks! Mix everything together in a shaker with ice. Shake for 2 minutes and serve in a chilled margarita glass or on the rocks. For the frozen margarita the blender is used. Garnish with lemon or lime.
Sirenarita

Ingredients:
- ¾ oz Cream of Coconut
- 1 ¼ oz Tequila
- 1 ¼ oz Triple Sec
- 2 oz Sour Mix
Preparation:
Mix all ingredients in a shaker. Garnish glass with a slice of lime and orange.

Ingredients:
- 1 ½ oz añejo rum
- ½ oz orange liqueur
- 1 oz Lemon juice
- 1 oz simple syrup
- Salt (rim)
Preparation:
Mix all ingredients in a shaker and pour into a salt-rimmed glass. Garish with a slice of lime.
Strawberry Mango Margarita

Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 oz. Tequila Gold
- 1/2 oz. Cointreau
- 1 oz. Strawberry Mix
- 1 oz. Mango Mix
Preparation:
Mix all ingredients except the mango. Shake with ice or blend for frozen Margarita, serve first the Mango for the color effect and follow the mixed ingredients in a cold Margarita cup with Brown sugar in the border.
Coconut Margarita

Ingredients:
- 2 oz. Silver Tequila
- 1 oz. Coconut Rum
- .50 oz. Elderflower liqueur
- 3 oz. Fresh Coconut Water
- Drizzle of Coco Lopez
- Fresh Vanilla Bean (Scraped)
- 1 Fresh Lime Wedge Squeezed (to serve)
Preparation:
Mix tequila, coconut rum, elderflower liqueur, Coconut Water and vanilla bean in a shaker. Pour into a glass rimmed with toasted coconut.Drizzle with Coco Lopez and squeeze in a fresh lime wedge. Garnish with a lime peel.
