The perennially popular Edible Orlando Cooking Stage returns again to the Orlando Home Show October 24-26, and this fall, we’re in for a treat! An exciting collection of Central Florida’s top chefs will be there, showcasing their skills and their latest creations. This week, I attended a preview event where I got to meet Chef Marc Kusche of Hamilton’s Kitchen at the Alfond Inn. He’s eagerly anticipating his first time on the Edible Orlando stage, where he’s sure to be a fan favorite.
Kusche hails from Germany, and has brought an international team of chefs that infuses Hamilton’s Kitchen with exciting creativity and exotic flavors. We sampled eight different items from the new menu, and several of these Fall additions are standout items that foodies are sure to love. Kusche’s Fall Grilled Flatbread is topped with roasted butternut squash, creamy burrata cheese, and shaved prosciutto, with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil. The flavors mix beautifully, for a real autumnal experience that delights the palate.
Risottos have been very popular with guests at Hamilton’s Kitchen, and Kusche’s just outdone himself with a lobster and shrimp creation that’s bursting with flavor. The creamy risotto is simmered slowly in a lobster bisque with just a touch of spice, and topped with sautéed shrimp and fresh sorrel.
My absolute favorite of Kusche’s creations is the pumpkin soup. This incredible fall creation is made of roasted local pumpkins pureed smooth, and topped with almond scented cream. Kusche drizzles the soup with a pumpkin seed oil that he imports from Austria, and house-made crunchy roasted pumpkin seeds with just a hint of cayenne pepper. The flavors mingle beautifully for a soup that truly warms the soul.
See Kusche in action on Sunday October 26 at the popular Edible Orlando Cooking Stage. All weeken, this stage will sizzle with fun and flavor when the Orlando Home Show returns to the Orange County Convention Center on October 24-26. Orlando’s top culinary experts will be demonstrating mouth-watering recipes on stage throughout the weekend. Learn more at www.OrlandoHomeshow.com.
